Getting Reference Photos in Botetourt

Indigo Bunting
Robin
GoldFinch
Hey Friends,  Just a quicky (I'm hoping) 'cuz I can't get this computer to work .  It's taking forever and clicking on something over and over.
I took these photos and a lot more at Judy's home this morning.  Most of you probably know what a bird nut I am, so I got to see some up close for a change.  This is the first indigo bunting I've seen in person.   I had a photo of a dark bird I wanted someone to identify for me but it won't load on to the blog.  I will try again tomorrow.

Beautiful Birds

Hey Friends,  I had the good fortune to see both of these beauties this morning !!!  Even found this tiny little feather.  Can't say for sure that it's a woodpeckers feather but it sure looks like it.
On my way to work I had to stop for some suet to offer these beauties.  I want them to hang around so suet should do the trick.

I also painted about 5 more Wood peckers  and I've started listing them in my DPW gallery.  The starting bids are low and they make sweet little gifts.  And they come with their own little handcrafted easels., which you can see by scrolling down a bit.

Wild Phlox

Hey Friends, I just added this little painting to the Daily Paintworks Shop.  It is 5"x5" canvas panel.
And it is really better looking in person.  And I used my scanner which usually makes such good copies.  Seems a little fuzzy to me.  I should try it again and compare.  Maybe I've accidently changed something on my scanner.
This auction will start tomorrow the 26th .  Click on that DPW emblem there on the right.

Lessor Flamingo Painting 6x6x1.5

Hey Friends, I can't say I've got DPW figured out BUT I did get 2 paintings posted on there!
I'm not sure how their posting dates work. You would think that part would be clear as mud.
The problem could be I got tangled up, so to speak, on my first post and kept screwing up after that.
Anyway, some lovely person has placed a bid on my first, the Greater Flamingo !!!! I'm hoping they will click to this blog and see what the sides look like. DPW as far as I can tell doesn't let you post multi views.
I will try again to get the blog feed on there correctly.
On another note, today was fantastic weather here in the mountains of SW Va.. Sunshine and breezes. And my favorite little boy came to visit for an hour. We went for our usual little walk to the mail box and throwing stones and stuff into the creeks. Beautiful Day.
After my BabyDoll left, I went back down to the creeks to sketch and photograph all the fantastic moss growing everywhere. It actually seems to grow best on rocks or mortor. I hope/plan to do several paintings within walking distance of home. Should be fun to produce.

Now I'm back to DPW to post a few Dragonflies. I love playing with the colors on DF's.

Happy Trails.
