ORIGINAL PAINTING OF SISTERS PATIO GARDEN

Hey Friends, I was able to get out and paint a bit more today.  After I picked up my little GranBabes from school, we went to my sisters house.
While the babes jumped on the trampoline and swung, I Painted!

This is the view of the patio from her driveway.  The giant bush in the back has pretty little round yellow blooms.  Don't know what it's called but it is very hearty.  The sweet little birds like to nest in it.  The bleeding heart is on the left, with Va. Blue Bells.  There is Iris and phlox on the right.

CLICK HERE for the EBAY auction. We want to go to the beach this year, and every bit helps.  This would make a great gift for Mom's Day or your Sis's Birthday.

Thanks for stopping in.

ORIGINAL PLEIN AIR PAINTING ON A BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY IN SW BLUE RIDGE VIRGINIA

Hey Friends,  I had the huge joy of getting outside to paint some of the beautiful greens finally popping out everywhere.  It is still a bit chilly in the shade but I loved it.

Took a photo AFTER I had finished.  Don't know why I can't remember to do this all along.  I think a timer would help.

Hoping you all are getting outside too, even if it's just to mow the lawn.

ORIGINAL LANDSCAPE WITH HORSES, PLEIN AIR TODAY, BABY BUNNY

Hey Friends,  Some of you may know that I have painted this hill behind our house several times.  Over the years there have been several kinds of animals housed there.  At the moment there are goats and I believe many of them had babes recently.  Only because they haven't been down to the gate to say HI !  Visit my ETSY store HERE.

This morning we, the DLP, made a trip to Carvins Cove Reservoir over in the Hollins Area to do a little plein air painting....Above is my study.
The wind was pretty rough.  I never lost anything but it sort of unnerves you.  I was happy with what I did and I think the others were happy too.

And to round off a good day look at that little cutie pie !  My youngest brother, Phillip, was about to start mowing when he spotted this baby bunny and even managed to catch it.  Probably close to a month old.  When Phillip released it, it headed straight for the garden.

Hoping all of you had a great day too.
Thanks for stopping by.

Peach Blossums - on SALE in my ETSY shop

Hey Friends,  Some people may remember from my whining before, that my computer gets NO internet service from Comcast when it rains !  So it's been pretty useless for 2 days.

This painting is of the Peach Blossums at Ikenberry's Orchard.  A local HotSpot with fabulous fruit.

I listed her in my Etsy Shop on SALE because I would love to make a little room and buy some new oils.  I'll be listing a few more so come back often.

Please go read the Double Line Painters blog,  we are having a challenge for the plein air season.

Mean while CLICK HERE to look at Etsy.

ORIGINAL PAINTING COLLAGE NEST WITH CHILD

Hey Friends,  I listed this painting a few days ago in my Etsy Shop.  You can check it out HERE.

Just one of my crazy ideas about what this little girl was thinking and doing.

For you experimental artists out there, look in the hair color dept.  and you might find a bottle with 4-5 points on it for hair color to come out.  I think it might be for streaking your hair.  Anyway put very thin acrylic in it to make 4-5 lines at the same time.  Like I did with the nest up there.

I used some scrap book papers too.  And some I painted myself.  And gel with bubble wrap.
'tis a lot of fun !

Thanks for stopping by.

ORIGINAL PAINTING TO CELEBRATE MOTHER'S DAY

Hey Friends,  I just posted this in my ETSY Shop.  I love to work on these symbolic eggs and their nest.  Most of the texture is created with a tooth pick !

I scanned this view hoping you could see the gold leaf better.  You can see it's shiny but not gold.

Thanks for stopping by.

ORIGINAL PAINTING PLEIN AIR IN SALEM CHERRY TREES IN SPRING DRESSES

Hey Friends,  For you Salemites, do you recognize this place ?   I stopped a few times to take photos.

This shot is after I finished a sketch.  I have read your sketch is good IF a truck pulled up and blocked your view, you could still paint from your sketch.   I have not been put to the test yet.

Starting to block it in.

Added the shadows.

Got the trunks in, so now it's the blossums.  And if you are wondering, this is a new panel holder from Carol Marine.  Only used it once, not the easy tool she talks about.  But I probably haven't gotten the hang of it yet.

This little spring time jewel is for auction in EBAY.  CLICK HERE.

ORIGINAL PAINTING SNOW BISON IN PAINT BANK

Hey Friends,  painted this one a month or so ago.  Love to paint bison.
These were on a farm in Paint Bank Virginia.  A farm in Erie, Pa. has bison also, and I've taken photos up there too.

Would love to see them in the National Parks out west.  Really I'm just glad the Pilgrims didn't eradicate all of them.

This is available in my ETSY shop - HERE.

Please stop in again soon.

ORIGINAL SMALL PAINTING BLUEBIRD HOUSE

Hey Friends,  Before you know it, it's going to be Mother's Day again.  Most of the last 20 years I have been working an art show on Mother's Day so my girls had to wait for the celebration.

Most Mother's don't NEED a thing but something pretty like a small piece of art work would be a happy thing to receive.  My girls never would have thought to give me art !  ART! of all things.
After all that's what I do .

Of course I would never have told them either.  I really need nothing.  And they were struggling to make ends meet like most families.  I'm very proud of what they have accomplished and how well they are caring for their own children.

So if your Mom doesn't NEED a single thing, think about giving her a permanent little piece of Nature's Beauty.  You just never know.

ORIGINAL PAINTING OF DRAGON FLY ON SUNFLOWER

Hey Friends,  Recently listed this Sunflower in my ETSY shop.
That is a very handsome Dragonfly, if I say so myself.

Maybe some of you remember that I have a couple of dragonfly models in my studio.  They have a tendency to wander into the greenhouse and then forget how to get out.  So they eventually die.  I save them for my models.  Wouldn't want their death to be in vain, right?

Hope your week has taken a great start.

Imagine that.  It worked.

ORIGINAL PAINTING OF PHLOX ALONG FISHBURN CREEK

Hey friends,  This colorful long horizontal artwork was painted while at Fishburn Park here in the Roanoke Valley of SW Va.
Phlox and the Va. blue bells only bloom for a week or two in April so you gotta get out there when they are available.  They are a beautiful sight I look forward too every spring.

This is available in ETSY-HERE.

After we hung new work at the Salem Terrace yesterday, I went for a short walk on the GreenWay.
I came across this giant goose, above.  Must be something genetically modified.
I've never seen one this huge.  Look at the Canadian goose next to it and you know how BIG they are.  So this critter must be 3 ft. tall and the size of a German Shepherd.!!
And he didn't seem to like my presence.  He made a sound sort of between a bark and a honk.  And then he started swimming towards me.  And I left in a hurry.  I don't know what a goose attack feels like, not pleasant I bet, but wouldn't it be funny?

Anyway, Be on the look out for this giant along the Greenway between South Salem and Green Hill Park.
