ORIGINAL PAINTING OF SISTERS PATIO GARDEN

 

Hey Friends, I was able to get out and paint a bit more today.  After I picked up my little GranBabes from school, we went to my sisters house.

While the babes jumped on the trampoline and swung, I Painted!

 

This is the view of the patio from her driveway.  The giant bush in the back has pretty little round yellow blooms.  Don't know what it's called but it is very hearty.  The sweet little birds like to nest in it.  The bleeding heart is on the left, with Va. Blue Bells.  There is Iris and phlox on the right.

Day 19 of Leslie Saeta's Challenge

Hey Friends, A favorite subject for Day 19 - Clouds !   At the state park in Myrtle Beach, SC it was very windy on this day.  I caught some grasses upright when the wind stopped for a second.  I believe it is sea oats.  BTW sea oats grow just about anywhere, they are tough little plants, I guess that's why they hold the sand in place so well.

Tight Rope Walking

 Hey Friends,  Trying to keep a little momentum going here.  I really enjoyed Leslie Saeta's challenge, but it was a challenge !.   I can paint every day but when you add a couple hours of computer time, every day,  it's a little different.  And if there are any artist out there with storage problems or how do you keep up with NOT sending any to galleries.  I'm afraid to send any thing from my DPW gallery or Etsy shop to my galleries because I know I'd end up selling the same thing in 2 different locations.   Does that make sense?

 My GranBabe is taking piano lessons and I was perusing her books.  I saw several song titles that struck a chord so I copied them.  Tight rope walking could be any one of us.  These spindly flamingos always seem to be walking on the edge, so why not a rope.

This painting has a companion and I'll finish it tomorrow.  This will go in my Etsy shop too.

13 Paintings in 13 Days

Hey Friends,  Here is the companion piece to yesterdays challenge.  This title is "Singing with My Love".
I could see this turning into a series.....Ya never know.  These two hang out a lot together and always have so much fun.  Maybe they should write a book ? !
No time for funny business today.  I've gotta finish framing and pack and what else?

Mini Bird Paintings at DPW

 Hey Friends,  I just put these 3 little specimens in my DPW gallery for sale.

The short 3 day auctions start at $29.00.

I made the auctions short so they can be shipped in time for holiday gifts.











They come with a little hand crafted silver jewelry wire easel to display.  And yes, I made them because I can't find any ready made easels except clunky wooden ones.

I will take a photo of one on the easel and show it to you tomorrow.   But they are very nice looking, I'm told.

LITTLE BLACK BOOK

Hey Friends, Thought I would show you one of my all time favorites. Why is it one of my favorites? I think mostly, it is the colors. Yeah, I'm a color freak. This one is bright, but soothing or calming. This feeling is the way most gardens/landscapes hit me. Maybe I'm a bit lazy but I love to sit in a garden or patio and just take it all in. The colors, the smells, the breeze, the sounds (birds,water,children,dogs,airplanes). If I'm left alone, reading fits in nicely. I ALWAYS want to take a nap outdoors too, but the bugs won't allow it. AND if you can imagine, someone comes along and fires up that big shiny grill and then the smells of burgers and tomatoes hit ya.

I painted this at my sisters house. I used her furniture, etc. but the colors are mine. This is the way I wanted her place to look. I listed it in my ETSY shop and DESIGN STYLE GUIDE.

Now I'm gonna call my sis and tell her to look at my blog. I'm hoping she will get the hint. This is the perfect day to invite me over for dinner!
