Hummingbird

Hey Friends,  I like the idea of this tiny little fella hanging onto a lite-up tree light.  After watching these precious little birds all summer, I want to immortalize a few by painting them.   I will have to rely on my imagination because I surely couldn't get any decent photos of the little dare devils.
I have different lights I can use for props and would love to find a life sized artificial bird.  Maybe I can make one from clay !
On another note, I will be out with the Double Line Painters this Thursday in Bedford, Va.  This is to gather reference photos of any local barns to paint from.   This is a special project by Bedford and I will have to find the invitation to share with you, so it will make sense.  Mary Anne wrote a bit in her blog and here is the link.
I'm listing this hummer in my Etsy shop and in the DPW gallery.

30 in 30 Challenge

Hey Friends,  A short post to show the latest hummer for the 30 in 30 challenge.   I KNOW I've not been posting every day but I'll just have to take a beating.   My daughter is very sick still and it's taking a toll.

I see better days ahead.

From the Oil Painters of America blog - "We keep our eyes on the things we can not see:  for the things which we can see are temporal;  the things that are unseen are eternal.

Mini Bird Paintings at DPW

Hey Friends,  I just put these 3 little specimens in my DPW gallery for sale.

The short 3 day auctions start at $29.00.

I made the auctions short so they can be shipped in time for holiday gifts.

They come with a little hand crafted silver jewelry wire easel to display.  And yes, I made them because I can't find any ready made easels except clunky wooden ones.

I will take a photo of one on the easel and show it to you tomorrow.   But they are very nice looking, I'm told.

If you want these can be wrapped in a small box and sent directly to someone on your list.

No extra charge !
