ORIGINAL PAINTING COLLAGE NEST WITH CHILD

Hey Friends,  I listed this painting a few days ago in my Etsy Shop.  You can check it out HERE.

Just one of my crazy ideas about what this little girl was thinking and doing.

For you experimental artists out there, look in the hair color dept.  and you might find a bottle with 4-5 points on it for hair color to come out.  I think it might be for streaking your hair.  Anyway put very thin acrylic in it to make 4-5 lines at the same time.  Like I did with the nest up there.

I used some scrap book papers too.  And some I painted myself.  And gel with bubble wrap.
'tis a lot of fun !

Thanks for stopping by.

"Sunflower with Robin"

Hey Friends,  My newest addition to Ebay.  This collage was started with a base layer of the tissue paper that sewing patterns are printed on.  You can see bits of it showing through the layers.  I carved the sunflower into a large block of rubber.  The little robin is a painting I made last year and I printed it on Sumi paper.  The rest is acrylic paints.  It is on a wrapped canvas and ready to hang.

"Ducks" Collage

Hey Friends,  Another I found in the studio.  A whimsical collage made from photos I took of ducks whilst at Roanoke River, probably the Eddie Street Bridge.  I just love to watch these silly little creatures.  At the river or at my neighbors pond and the fountain pond in DT Salem.

I'm offering this on Ebay starting at a penny.  Go look !  Unfortunately I forgot to post this sooner.  This auction is ending tonight, but ebay automatically relists if it doesn't sell.

Friends and Lovers

Hey Friends,  I'm posting the latest work first because I'm afraid I'll get in trouble with DPW.  They (DPW) pull the first image on your blog to post on their site in my gallery.  Hope that makes since.  Anyway a couple times I've just blogged about what's going on (nothing for sale) and some one made a comment about it being a photo and not a painting.  So just to be safe I'm doing it this way from now on.   Maybe.  The painting above just sort of grew from beginning with the piece of green paper with the musical notes on it.  It actually came in the mail as a postcard invitation to a concert.  You can see in the real piece that I stitched on it with a sewing machine before gelling it on the canvas panel.  Another piece of the GranBabes music sheets, real oat grass from the yard and a feather stencil and silk flowers.  And I'll put this in my Etsy shop.
And today I met up with my painting buddies here in Salem, Va. to enjoy a drizzly day, chatting and painting under the picnic shelter.  Enjoyed every minute.

Day 21 of the 30 Day Challenge

Hey Friends,  Here it is-Day 21 !  And I'm still here too.  I'm amazed at myself.
Todays presentation is, you guessed it, more birds.  This one started with the paper base and then acrylic gel stenciled on and then the bluebirds and last, I painted the bird bath.
And to toot my own horn, a lovely woman in Eugene, Oregon bought my dictionary collage of "Ibis".
Just pray I can keep this pace up after this challenge.  Or to be more reasonable, every other day.
In case you don't know I put my work in my Etsy store.   Click Here.

Day 20 Original Art Challenge

Hey Friends,  I had a big scare earlier this morning.  My monitor wouldn't come on!  Of course I called my daughter.  She said "check the connections and then turn machine off for a bit".  And it worked  Yay!!!  Just happy I don't have to buy a new one.
Above is a collage of avian stuff on a deep 6x6 canvas.  These are fun to do so last night I scanned some of my gran babe's piano practice book and a couple pages from her notebook with pencil written stuff.  Now I will go to the copy store and have some lazer copies made to use in these collages.  You need lazer copies so the ink won't smear and run when I get it wet.
Hope to get one done for tomorrow's challenge.
