NEST FULL OF JOY

Hey Friends,  A quick post today because I get to pick up my sweet GranBabes today after school and take Lillie to her riding lesson.  Photo Op.!!

I got a couple of small collages back from a show and I have listed them in EBAY.
I continue to clear out anything unnecessary in my studio.  I need to focus.

Not to mention my art group, the Double Line Painters, is having a BIG challenge.       It's called - 150 Paintings in 150 Days.

Thanks for stopping by.

ORIGINAL PAINTING COLLAGE NEST WITH CHILD

Hey Friends,  I listed this painting a few days ago in my Etsy Shop.  You can check it out HERE.

Just one of my crazy ideas about what this little girl was thinking and doing.

For you experimental artists out there, look in the hair color dept.  and you might find a bottle with 4-5 points on it for hair color to come out.  I think it might be for streaking your hair.  Anyway put very thin acrylic in it to make 4-5 lines at the same time.  Like I did with the nest up there.

I used some scrap book papers too.  And some I painted myself.  And gel with bubble wrap.
'tis a lot of fun !

ORIGINAL ACRYLIC PAINTING - "WOOD STORKS'

Hey Friends,  Again the weather here is sunny and nice.  A bit chillier than yesterday.

This painting of nesting wood storks was done a couple years ago from photos taken while in Florida visiting my uncle.
This nest was really big and messy and a bit stinky.  But what the heck you can't be picturesque and smell like a gardenia every day.

This is for auction in EBAY but the link doesn't engage until tonight, about 9pm.

Thanks for stopping by

"FRIENDS AND LOVERS" ORIGINAL COLLAGE PAINTING

Hey Friends,  A painterly collage !  The sheet music under the Blue Bird is titled "Friends and Lovers".  So that seemed the perfect title.  This type painting , for me, is harder than straight painting.  It takes more time and experimenting.  You just keep trying stuff until something works.
I enjoy this manner of creation but IT IS harder.

This babe is in my ETSY shop.

Have a great Friday.

"RWP Eggs" for Mothers Day

Hey Friends,  Maybe your Mom would like a more colorful home for her chicks.  Here it is !
A red nest with turquoise eggs.
Eggs are a symbol for home, nest, children, and fertility.
The auction ends tomorrow, so check it out HERE.

And for some fun news. . . .I got to paint outside today !  This evening as the sun was getting low.
I have painted from this same spot about 3-4 times since the iris started blooming.  I intend to show you the first attempts also but I wanted to go ahead and share todays effort.
Mainly because I think I did a much better job than usual.
Most of my plein air efforts are too dark when you bring them indoors.  From what I have read, lots of plein air newbies do this too.  It's VERY difficult for me to SEE this when I'm going full-tilt in the sunshine.  I guess you get used to it at some point, with enough practice.
Anyway, I feel like this one is pretty good.  Any comments or helpful suggestions are welcome.

Thought I would throw in a couple shots as I worked.  I'm not very good at stopping enough to get shots.  A timer would help.

This shot I'm pretty much finished.  So I will live with it for a while and decide what to do with her.

"Mourning Dove Eggs" Original Painting for Mothers Day

Hey Friends, Are you still looking for a present to give MOM ?  It is right here.  It is in a simple silvery frame, ready for display and gift giving.
Eggs are a symbol of fertility, family, home, children.  I had one local collector order a nest painting with eggs for each child and grand child.   The number of eggs matched how many children each child had.  The grand kids had only one egg.

This is for auction in Ebay starting at a penny.  The auction ends Wed, the 7th.  So there should be plenty of time for shipping to receive by the 9th or 10th.

Can You Stop the Rain ?!

Hey Friends,  Another little piece of inspiration.   Wouldn't it be cute if we humans could look up into the trees and see little purple umbrellas here and there?  We would know the little birds were doing OK.  Maybe I'm reverting to childhood.
This was painted on the piano papers again, all free hand with acrylics.  I love to make the little paperdoll chains into any creature-the little blue birds there at the bottom.  And this one has my finger prints all over it too.  If I thought it was possible at all, I'd catch a bird and make foot prints with it, before setting it free.  Wouldn't that be the coolest thing I've done yet.
I went to an apple orchard today with my sister and of course I got a bunch of pictures.  Soon I can paint from them and munch on apples whilst I work..
Here is the link to my Etsy shop

Day 10 in Leslie Saeta's Challenge

Hey Friends,   A good friend gave me this tiny nest.  She found it in her yard after a hard storm.  I'm hoping the Mom and Babes had already left to find a bigger home.   I took photos of my Babe, Lillie, holding it, to paint from.  She is so sweet and indulges my every photo wish.
I cut this string of paper birds out of some deli-paper I had painted for another project.
I drug a toothpick around and around in some heavy gel for this nest to have texture.  And I used more deli papers in the background, along with stencils.
And I'm just showing these 2 photos to NaNaKat  'cuz she loves birds as much as I do..   I've had my moulding saw outside all summer 'cuz it's so crowded in the studio.   Wrapped in plastic and a heavy tarp, folded 4 times and clamped with big work clamps, 8 clamps!
But a silly wren got in there and with all this material.  I hope she raised some babes without trouble.  I never saw her come or go and I passed by at least 50 times a day!  Moma Birds on a Mission !!!!

Trying my Plein-Aire paintings in DPW

Well Hey Again,  I've decided to put some of my plein-aire work into my DPW shop !   I'll never find out if anyone likes them if I don't put 'em out there.  I enjoy painting these so much I would keep doing them no mtter what BUT if I can make a enough money to buy more supplies then I won't get so crabby !!

This is what I assume is a hawks nest, 'cuz it's so far up the tree.  I don't think other birds like to go that high.  Beautiful blue sky with clouds and all the wonderful sounds a plein aire painter is priviledged to hear.

This auction will start tomorrow 9-23-12.
