30 in 30 - Day 18

Hey Friends,  Posting a lot earlier than usual today because I had a second job out side my home.

I painted this using a photo from "Let's Paint New Mexico" and I used acrylics.  I have mostly used acrylics for this challenge 'cuz they dry so fast.  I prefer to scan paintings rather than photograph them, and you can't scan a wet oil Painting.!

Yesterday I painted (2) 12"x16" oils for an up coming show about Rt. 11.  This will be a great show I'm sure for the Double Line Painters.  I'll have details as the time gets closer.

30 in 30 - Day 16

Hey Friends,  Here is another mini !   Lilacs.....Can't imagine anyone not loving lilacs.

That heavenly smell alone is worth your effort to grow.

And how many colors do they come in now?

I'm painting another one or two but bigger.

This mini is a 4"x 4" canvas panel.  You could display as is on a mini easel or frame it.

BIG EYEBALLS FOR MINI-PAINTINGS

Hey Friends, I just wanted to show you a couple of mini-paintings I've done lately. I love to paint birds and nature in general, but I have found that I really enjoy painting birds nest! Not sure why I like these so much. Could be symbolic of several things, like birth or rebirth or a new beginning. Or maybe when you watch birds in the great outdoors, you know what these little eggs are in for. It's such a struggle for birds to stay alive and reproduce.
These paintings are such sweet gifts for so little money. I put them in handsome gold frames and luckily I've sold several in the last month. When times are ruff you have to think of something!

Another reason for showing you these paintings is to make fun of my glasses! I have looked and looked for some really strong glasses to paint mini's with. My regular glasses just wouldn't do. Could not find any, so I made my own! I'll show you in the next post.

CLUSTER OF POPPIES

This small piece , 6"x6", is a view from the back yard, looking up a small hill or ridge. It is especially pretty with the evening light. Over the years there have been horses or goats or cows in this little pasture. At the moment there are no animals, so the vegetation has had a chance to grow a bit. I painted this with acrylics on canvas panel and it is varnished. It would make a nice gift for an art enthusiast. CLICK HERE to visit ebay and bidding.

SISTERS - A Little Breakfast

I have painted these little ladies a couple times before. I have enjoyed visiting with them on several occasions. A lively, outspoken pair, enjoying their retirement and life. We have talked about everything, from their garden and birds to food and sex! A really funny visit to be sure. I can almost imagine this being me and my sister, except the body shapes would be very different. Kinda makes me think of the TV movie "the Golden Girls". I spent the entire day, yesterday, in my sisters swimming pool with my precious grandbaby and today my back is killing me. I have still been in my studio working on a couple commissions though, I had to tear myself away to come home to post this piece. Hope you see what I see in it. CLICK HERE to go to ebay to purchase. FISHING ON THE NEW

OK - Here is the other piece I was talking about last night. This is my nephew, Patrick, on a rock in the New River fishing. That's where the title came from. I can't remember if he caught a lot of fish or none. He usually comes back with a good haul. He's a nut about fishing. You can't really blame anyone for wanting to spend their days doing what they love. Kinda like me. I'd rather paint than anything you can think of. Hope you've had a great day, I did.
