ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING OF PINK GARDEN ROSES ON ETSY NOW

Hey Friends,  Just listed this 16" x 12" Oil Painting in my Etsy Shop.

Here is shot of the block in.  You may remember my saying I wanted to paint like Ovannes Berberian.  He is my favorite living artist!  He sets up his still lifes outside !  Plein-Air, Alla Prima.

It is a wonderful way to work, my favorite.

I got a few roses from a neighbor and stuck in a couple fake roses to fill it out. 

Now I want to remind you about the Home Builders Show at the Salem Civic Center this coming weekend.  Sat. 10-6pm and Sun 12-5

NEW STILL LIFE ON ETSY AND ART ON THE LAWN

Hey Friends, Finally getting some strength back!  Enough to post on this blog and Etsy and DLP blog.

This is another still life where I tried to paint like Ovannes Berberian.  I was digusted, or maybe irritated is a better word, when I finished this.  So after looking at it glumly for a bit, I got out the long haired liner brush and said I'll fix or destroy it.  When I finished all the squiggles, I liked it so much better!   CLICK HERE for a view on ETSY.

Pearisburg was tuff, even if we did have some of the best volunteers EVER.!  If  I could get some sleep the night before a show, the experience would be so much better.  But I can't sleep and get up at 4:30am and drink caffeine until I'm nearly sick.  Pack up the cooler and brush the teeth and jump in the already loaded and gassed up car and go whizzing to meet Linda, another DLP member.  The drive to Pearisburg takes > < an hour.  So I'm hoping I make with out having to PEE!  Remember ALL the caffeine... Nope I don't make it.  Somewhere in the dark, not to far from my destination, I must stop.  Pee and get more coffee !!

Betty Herbert and her vast staff of volunteers were so helpful.  But like I said, it's still tuff.  It turned into a beautiful day.  Not to hot and lots of sunshine and blue sky with billowing clouds.

I did meet a super couple, above, that bought two of my pieces.  And they are Inn Keepers near by and said they would love to have us, the DLP's, come up in the fall and paint some of their beautiful views at the Inn..  How cool is that.

ORIGINAL PAINTING STILL LIFE FLORAL PINK PEONIES PAPER LANTERN

Hey Friends,  I just put this Still Life in my Etsy Shop CLICK HERE for a look.

I painted this out doors, in my yard, while my Gran Babes played in the mud.  Ovannes Berberian paints outside, his still lifes and landscapes.  That's the way I understand the info I've read about him.

Now if I could sell 500 paintings like this, I'd have enough money to take one of his workshops !!

Don't you want to indulge me?  Maybe if you passed this on to everyone you know it would help.

Anything is possible.

Or you could come to Art on the Lawn in Pearisburg, Va. tomorrow, Sat. 9-19.  That's in Giles County, North of Blacksburg on Rt. 460.  We will be there 9-4 and it's supposed to be a pretty Day.

"FLOWERS FOR A TABLE" NEW LARGE PAINTING ON EBAY

Hey Friends,  Just finished listing this big painting on Ebay.  Interested in seeing what happens.

I felt like a photo in a real setting might show the scale better.  I know this can be done virtually somehow but you know I can't figure it out.  This works OK, has a little glare.

Ormond Beach, Florida

Hey Friends,  If you have ever been to this gorgeous part of Florida you know what it looks like and it does not include Palm Trees like this !

I used my privileges and moved my gorgeous host' tree to the ocean edge.  Don't quote me, but I think the reason palms don't grow this close to the ocean, is the hurricanes?

While I was in Ormond this past June, I painted several small panels that I'm saving for the DLP's 150 Challenge.  We will start showing those this Saturday the 12th at the famous "Lynchburg Art Festival" at EC Glass Hi-School.

Anyway, this pert little palm is for auction on Ebay.  CLICK HERE.

I've changed my tactics on Ebay a little.  I no longer start bidding at .99 .  I start bids at a price to cover the materials.  If I can't sell them at material cost then I will paint over them.  Also adding a "Buy it now" price so you don't have to wait for the auction to end.

ELEMENTS - the Show by Double Line Painters is hanging at Goose Creek Gallery in Bedford, Va.

Hey Friends,  A reminder, 'cuz I really hope you will take the time to come out to DT Bedford, Va.this Friday evening, the 11th for their 2nd Fridays Art Walk.

The 2 photos above show some of the works by the Double Line Painters.  Top is Linda Schaar.

These last 2 photos show a piece of mine, titled "Call of the Sea".  Titles are my weak spot.

Thought of calling it "Ariel's Necklace".  Sort of reminds me of a a child's homemade necklace.

There is a base of silver leaf,  with a Geode and shell slices and beads and some sort of netting and CARDBOARD of all things!  And Linda loaned me some stuff that makes instant verdigris, which you can barely see along the edge of cardboard.

For me the abstracted images are the hardest, they take the longest to create.  Maybe if one did them every day it wouldn't take so long.  You know that thing called "practice".

FAMILY NIGHT OUT on Ebay

Hey Friends,  I may be getting back into the swing of  computers.  I find it hard when it's nice outside to stay indoors.  I'm not too disciplined.

I painted this little whimsical piece last week, Maybe?  I'm trying to make pieces for ebay and etsy and shows coming up.  Such as the Lynchburg Fest. at EC Glass High School and Art on the Lawn and Ikenberrys and MORE.
