AUDACITY IS MY NEWEST PAINTING FOR THE 30 DAY CHALLENGE

Hey Friends,  Title of this one is AUDACITY which means willing to take risks or rudeness.

This looks like both ! Willing to take some rude risks.

This has been listed on my WEBSITE and on the 30 Day Challenge.

There is only about 9 days left !  If you ever want a month to go by super fast, take on a 30 day challenge and post what you did every day.  The month will disappear.

Abnormally warm here in SW Virginia, so I need to get outside and sling some paint.

CHANNELING PABLO - 30 in 30 CHALLENGE

Hey Friends,  A slight departure from my usual.  Gotta little bit of Picasso going on here.

I thought the bolder heavier shapes looked a bit like Pablo.

TUESDAYS CALM #3

Hey Friends,  This is No. 3 !  February is rolling right along, and I'm surprised I have made it this far.

I must say I did not paint this today.  It was several Tuesdays ago.  It does not have the looseness I have achieved already .  (I'm patting myself on the back)  Understand I'm not there yet but I have made some good strides in getting looser.

This piece is painted on a 20 x 16 canvas instead of paper.  It has been varnished and is ready to hang.

A DAY IN THE STUDIO

Hey Friends,  

I played HOOKEY today and stayed HOME!  I needed some quiet time.

I tried to straighten my studio a bit, somewhat successful.  If your heart isn't into, you know it just won't go the way you intend.

I got it straightened enough to get this started.  I think tomorrow I will put squiggles all over it.

This is HARD.

ROADBLOCK - Original Abstract Painting

Hey Friends,  Tell me what you think of this one?  I painted it last fall, late 2016. One of my first experiments with Bob Burridge's color wheel.  He has some informative video's on YouTube about his wheel.

This is a detail shot that hopefully you can see the textures.  Made with a cake decorating tool.  A few splatters too.

COMPASS OF WINDS - New Original Abstract Art

Hey Friends,  Another one of my first experiments into Abstract Art.

The first layer of color.  Some napthol, cadmium and aliziran.

The various papers are glued down.  This is a cruciform design again.  It is very easy to work with.

I prefer to paint my name instead of using a sharpie.

BRAND NEW VISION - Original Abstract Art Painting

Hey Friends,  Making your way through this week , happily?

 Hoping for some warmer weather so I can get outside to paint.  This year I want to try making collages outside.  I know, if it's windy what do I do?  Probably sit in the car or find a bunch of rocks.  HehHeh, Can't wait.

So this piece of my brain got it's title from my desire to try NEW painting styles.  I have always been pretty realistic and after 25 years, I just feel the need to do differently.  Hope it lasts for years, because it is so much fun.  Sometimes it is a bit taxing but I believe it may be a good way to defeat Alzhimers and a host of other elderly problems.  Although I'm still a spring chicken, it doesn't hurt to start early.

FOOLS GOLD Original Artwork Set of Three

Hey Friends,  I think I may have posted this before but I think it was just a peak.  Now you can see all 3 even though the photo sucks of the 2 smaller 6" of the set.

You can hang on one wall with the 2 smaller on one side, or the 2 smaller on the bottom or top.  And you can hang the bigger alone and the 2 smaller on a shelf.

The Right Path - Progress shots

Hey Friends,  Thought you might enjoy perusing a few photos I took as I worked on this in the studio.  Obviously  I started with making the entire canvas red.  Threw in a bit of dark cherry red too. Then using 2-3 sized circles (cups etc.) and using different colors, applied the circles.

In the next to the last photo I have cut out white and black circles and taped to the canvas.  You can see I did not follow the layout exactly. 

Now it is up to you to take the Right Path.

I would never post a blog like this (all the verbiage at the bottom) but there are times when Blogger has do things his way.  I always let him win.
