Poppies

 

Hi Friends,  Been deathly ill for a couple days and I'm sitting up right now so I've gotta post before I cave in.

The painting above was done a few years ago and unearthed recently in a studio clean up.

I was playing with gold leaf at the time.  And the poppies are painted on Masa Rice Paper.  Lots of textures in the background.  Click HERE for the ebay auction.

Hey Friends,  This contemporary bird (I do not know what to call this style except creative) is painted with acrylics on canvas panel.  I did this several years ago.  I made a rather lengthy series of various birds in this same creative motif?  CLICK HERE for ebay.

 

And here is a plein air piece painted last week.  July 28th the sky was changing rapidly, every few minutes it looked so different and beautiful.  So I climbed to the flat roof of my studio and made a fast small painting every 30 minutes.  I so enjoyed the marathon, I plan to do it again soon as the weather agrees.  CLICK HERE for ebay.

Twenty First in the Pollinator Series and one auction about to end

And here is one of the paintings I started Thursday while the DLP's were at Evergreen Lavender Farm in Appomattox area right off Rt. 460 East of Lynchburg.  The entire farm was beautiful and I want to paint a dozen more.  We never know but summer is such a busy time, I may get them done !
Haven't figured out yet what to do with these summer plein aire paintings.  I suppose the smart thing is frame them up and take to galleries.  See what the world thinks of them.

Clematis and Columbine Original Paintings

 

Hey Friends,  I painted this set to hang together, anyway I like them together.  I like the look of bamboo when used like a trellis or stakes.  We all know what happens if you plant them.

And the companion is columbine.  Love these little guys, in all their colors.  I used gingko leaves to make the impressions across the top and bottom of both.
