ORIGINAL PAINTING OF EVERGREEN LAVENDER FARM

Well Hey Friends,  Been a day or so, hasn't it?  The beautiful sunny days always draw me away from the office.  I painted this little colorful scene last week when it was colder and rainy.  Perked me right up.  It could perk you up too.  Just CLICK HERE for some close ups on Ebay.
Hoping you have a great sunny week, too.

Thanks for stopping in.

Blue Bird with His Nest

Hey Friends,  This is an experiment of sorts.  Trying out the technique of printing on sumi paper and using in a collage.  (That would be the nest area)  The bird is a stencil using heavy gel so it is raised.  The rest is acrylic paints.   Enjoyed doing this and want to give it another try.  Click Here for the Ebay auction.

"A boy and His Dog"

Hey Friends,  Here is a wee bit of heaven for ya.  We can only dream of such things.  Mostly inspired by the movie "All Dogs go to Heaven".  This fella is swinging with his best friend one last time. Convincing him there is nothing to be afraid of in Heaven.  Click Here for a closer look in Ebay.

And now for what I did today.

I went to "Butts Cemetery" in the Glenvar/Fort Lewis area on Alleghany Rd. here in Salem, Va.  And painted a small sketch for a distant cousin that is to be in this area in April or May doing genealogy research on his ancestors.  Which includes some of mine.  The work he and his sister have done is amazing.  They have such patience.

He wants to visit this cemetery so I thought he might like something besides a photo.  A professional photographer may be able to do this place justice but not me.  And from the looks of that photo above, someone is doing some construction there.  See ya soon Robert.

"GreenHill No.2"

Hey Friends,  A short post to show you what's up for auction in Ebay.  Click Here......Greenhill has a ton of views waiting to be painted.  I'll never have time to do it justice.  I scan my larger painting on my great but smaller Epson scanner and then knit the sections together in photoshop.  Occasionally the sections will show a line, such as you see above.  If I were any good at photoshop I could probably erase, paint over or blend that line.  But I don't wanna fool with it.  I think you can tell what it looks like.  And the colors are pretty true here.

Don't forget to come say hello at the Art Walk in Bedford tomorrow evening, 5-8 pm.  At the Electric Co. Co-Op Gallery.  The DLP are the featured artists.  Click Here for more info.  And Click Here for even more info.

Appalachian Trail

Hey Friends,  Just listed this little landscape in an Ebay auction, starting at a penny.  This is one of the well worn paths you would see if hiking on the Appalachian Trail here in Va.  Usually I take a photo of a sign or a marker near the area of a painting. But NOT this time.
There were a lot of beautiful little delicate ferns growing along this section and over the bank.  Plus a lot of colorful rocks.  And bugs and snakes and gnats and birds.  No bears this time.

This is varnished and ready to hang.  Click Here for Ebay.

"the Crazy People at the Top of the Hill"

Hey Friends,  This is an on going series, I have been painting for years.  The early paintings have all sold, so I've started numbering them  This is #4 on a wrapped canvas 8x10.  The sides are painted the same green colors.  There is a huge history behind these paintings.  A history that can choke you so I doubt if it'll be coming out soon.
This is late evening, the sun was burning up the dry foliage.  Click here for Ebay.

Glenvar, Virginia Last Fall

Hey Friends,  This is an 8x10 done from some photos I took on a beautiful blustery day last fall.  This was a chilly day and I've been waiting and waiting for another such day to roll into this area.  I could have this morning, it was nice, but other chores kept me inside and now it's dark.  Another front has moved in and we may get more snow !
This is the year of the endless winter.
This interpretation of a beautiful day is up for auction in Ebay - Click Here.

Traveling on Route 785 to Beliveau Estate

Hey Friends,  On a little quick trip to Beliveau Estate on Blacksburg Road just to see what the lavender what doing last spring.  I took several photos, all from the car, which is not usually the better vantage point.  But we do what we can.  I really enjoyed that little trip and as soon as the blah winter disappears I'm going again.  It is a B&B so maybe I'll spend the night !!

This acrylic on a sandy surface canvas panel 6x6.  Click here for the Ebay auction page.

New Painting

                                                        Antique Bucket         4x6

Hey Friends,  This is a new painting.  A small one done on a navy blue ground.  I liked painting on this navy blue with white.  Makes a very cool, as in temperature, painting.  Just straight painting with acrylics.
I have been going through my older paintings and I have found I can't tell which are oil and which are acrylic, if I didn't mark them.  Do any of the artists out there know a secret way to tell them apart?
I'm a little surprised because I always thought they would be easy to identify.

This little darling is for auction on Ebay too.  Click here if ya wanna look.

"Garst Mill Creek No. One"

Hey Friends, Another batch of warm memories. This is one of the mellowest spots in the area.  Love to go to this little creek.  The painting is a bit warmer than what I see on my monitor.
It's in my ebay auctions opening at a penny.
