30 in 30 Day 14

Hey Friends,  Almost half way!!  This is # 14.

The first color laid down is turquoise.

Then the dark seed heads.

Then their silly little skirts.

Then some more layers laid over the first.  Texture, ya know.

More colors and what a grainy photo.  Went a little too far with the resizing.
Title is "Mexican Umbrella's".

It's available in my ETSY shop.  Hope your week has been pleasant and productive!

We will be removing the artwork from the Jefferson Center in DT Roanoke tomorrow.  I hope you got a chance to go by and see all the pretties.  In the meantime you can go by Potentially Chic on Brambleton Ave. to see the DLP's works.

BUMBLING - An original painting of Sunflowers and Bumble Bee's

Hey Friends, Do you wonder why I painted this?  It's frozen here in SW Virginia, as is most of our country and I'm anxious for spring to return.  How do the Eskimos make it?  How do the Canadians make it?  And it isn't because they are used to it.  I've lived here most of my life and I'm not used to it.  I was meant to live on an island like Gilligan (telling my age) so to save my sanity, I paint bright, colorful flowers and bee's
Hoping you are a bit like me and love happy paintings on your walls.
This is available in my ETSY SHOP.

And another from the Bedford series  This is a 9x12 canvas board with lots of texture from a ground of sanded gel.  A sharp turn in a small driveway with a mail box Right There ! for everyone to try missing.  A fun thing for the owners to do, don't ya think?
This one is listed in Ebay, CLICK HERE.

Hope everyone is used to this New Year and writing 2015.  And the little school babes go back to the classroom after tomorrow.  Time is flying at a whiplash speed.

Snow on the Crazy People at the Top of the Hill

Hey Friends,  I painted this late last week from photos I took last year.  This is #6 in an ongoing series about those Crazy People.  There were several before I started this blog and finally had to start numbering them.  I snuck up the hill when I was sure no one was home to get the photos.

This one I finished today.  It is 14 x 7 " and a shallow wrapped canvas.  The sides are blue.  I have decided to put this in my Etsy shop because I have neglected it for so long.  I don't know what happens to me.  Why do I get bored and neglect things for so long??  Why? Why?
Because you are an impatient person.

Tomorrow I will be in Bedford at the Goose Creek Gallery, painting with my Buddies.
Stop in and say HI !

Seventeenth in the Pollinator Series "Bird Food"

Hey Friends,  Only on #17 !  Seems to be dragging on huh?  I'm still enjoying this series but it seems I've been on pollinators for so long.   I'm saying it's because there is too much OTHER stuff going on.

You can see a few photos on EBAY of the start on these sunflowers.  Building up a seed head just like the real flower, and the crackling.

Collage Workshop and Studio Work

Hey Friends,  This photo was taken Saturday at the Double Line Painters collage workshop held at 2nd Helpings in Roanoke.  The workshop was a huge success, all the participants seemed to be very happy with their work.  I think my little Sweetheart up there looks like a Gummi Bear.  She is in that awkward stage of losing baby teeth.  And she's as big a chicken as her mom was about pulling them out.  Funny.
Just a snap of what's going on in the studio.  Using some of the collage papers made for the workshop.  This is their ugly stage.  Soon they will be swans!
And here is my latest accidental catch.  This guy was on our porch just yesterday with his sister, eating Ms. Kittys food.   He is as mean as they come.  And barked like a dog.  Never heard a coon before.  I could not get him out of the cage 'cuz he really wanted a bite.  I was gonna leave him till he calmed down, but Mom got him out by propping the door with a brick.

PEARS AND CANDLES

A vase of sunflowers with candles glowing. Pears didn't last as long as the sunflowers. This canvas was cut from a large piece of canvas - its a very odd size. I've already made a frame to this size - so I'm including the frame FREE! It is 5 3/4" x 5 1/4". CLICK HERE to place a bid on ebay. Thanks for visiting.
