FISHING ON THE NEW

OK - Here is the other piece I was talking about last night. This is my nephew, Patrick, on a rock in the New River fishing. That's where the title came from. I can't remember if he caught a lot of fish or none. He usually comes back with a good haul. He's a nut about fishing. You can't really blame anyone for wanting to spend their days doing what they love. Kinda like me. I'd rather paint than anything you can think of. Hope you've had a great day, I did. FISHERMAN

I was traveling home today (which was a beautiful day) from a visit to one of my gallerys, and decided to take the scenic route along what we call the 'River Road'. It's a little winding road that follows the Roanoke River. There were fella's fishing along the entire length of the river. So it reminded me of a couple paintings I had done last year. This one called Fisherman is a little canoe with the fella making his way back after a morning of fishing on Smith Mtn. Lake. He was a little disgruntled because he had not caught very many. If you have a fisherman in your family maybe he would like something a bit different for a gift this year! Click HERE to bid.

Thanks for visiting and stop by again tomorrow-I will post another called 'Fishing on the New'

"LANTERN & LILLY'S"

This piece of original art has pure gold leaf in the background. Gold leaf will not show up on a computer monitor but it is a really nice glowing surface. I love chinese paper lanterns and the mini-umbrellas and of course, the lillys. For purchase info on Ebay please click here.

MY STUDIO

Just in case anyone is interested, I'm posting this tiny painting I did today of my old studio. When I say old studio, I don't mean I have a new one, this building used to be my father's old workshop. I had months of clean-up and painting and new wiring to do to make it usable. And I still need to have doors installed and heat, etc. But I'm still able to use it. My Dad used it to work on cars and woodworking. My nephew, Patrick, helped me the most on updating it. My brother, Brady, put a new roof on it-Bless his little pea picking heart!!! If you read the previous post, you know I was declaring what a beautiful day today was. That's why I was sitting outside my studio painting instead of inside it. Well, I've fooled with this computer longer than I like!! Everyone have a good night! Thanks for stopping by.

'LAKE VIEW'

A friend with a home on Smith Mountain Lake let me use her view for this painting. SML is here in the southwestern mountains of Virginia. "The Little Gallery is here on this lake. They have a fabulous little gallery crammed with a zillion beautiful objects. You can find some of my work there if you get to visit the lake. Their website gives you directions-www.thelittlegallery.com. Today has been the perfect spring day with warm breezes and lots of sunshine. This would have been a great day to visit the lake or go for a hike or fishing. Hope you had a beautiful day! If anyone reads this blog and wants to take a few minutes to leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you. Maybe like how your day was , where you live! Thanks for stumbling in and if you would like information about bidding for this painting, go to ebay by clicking here.
