Pollinator Series # Twenty-Five "Discussion" and Plein Aire Today

Hey Friends,  This entertaining little painting is going up for auction on Ebay this evening.  Pollinator series is almost over and so is the month of June !  Yikes, can you believe it.

Me, Myself and the DLP's went out into the wild to paint today.  It was a beautiful day and so encouraging.   I might be getting a small grasp on this outdoor painting thing.  I try real hard not to include everything I see.  "Tis difficult.

Bonnie took this shot of me.  I would have to go back and look, but don't you think that looks like poison ivy in the foreground??  Bonnie are you itchy tonight?

Ebay Auctions Ending Soon on Original Art

Hey Friends, I don't know why I can't remember to post on this blog every single day or at least when some auctions are about to end.  It takes blogger a day or so to send new post out, and I KNOW that.

I'm gonna blame it on my GranBabes.  When they are here one part of my mind just finds a little spot in the closet to wait for them to go home.  The other part of my brain is joyful they are here to drive me crazy.  Love them dearly.
Anyway these two pretties will find new homes in the next few hours.
Thanks for stopping by but go to EBAY before leaving.

Twenty First in the Pollinator Series and one auction about to end

Hey Friends,  This is my latest addition to the Pollinator Series.  A Black Cap Chickadee, one of the sweetest birds around.  Done in a bold, graphic style.  Something different from the usual tree or garden.  Available tonight at 9pm eastern time on Ebay. Check it out.

And here is one that will probably end before this blog post ever makes it out into cyber land.  Does anyone have any idea why blog posts do not show up after publishing until the next day?

And here is one of the paintings I started Thursday while the DLP's were at Evergreen Lavender Farm in Appomattox area right off Rt. 460 East of Lynchburg.  The entire farm was beautiful and I want to paint a dozen more.  We never know but summer is such a busy time, I may get them done !
Haven't figured out yet what to do with these summer plein aire paintings.  I suppose the smart thing is frame them up and take to galleries.  See what the world thinks of them.

No. 18 in the Pollinator Series and Plein Aire at Evergreen Lavendar Farm

Hey Friends,  Moving on to #18 !  A gorgeous Raven waiting on a branch for a French fry !  This was started on a base of dictionary pages.  Up top left is the dictionary's definition of raven.  This pretty boy is for auction on EBAY, Click here.

But the good news of this day is We, the DLP's finally got to the beautiful "Evergreen Lavender Farm" just this side of Appomattox, Va. on Rt. 460.  Bonnie the owner, said "Sure come on over and paint.  She was happy to see us and a gracious host.

This is my first painting of the day.  I started with a magenta base instead o white canvas.  That is a beautiful pond in the distance.  With rows of lavender between us.

Here I'm pretty much finished.  Made a couple adjustments at home.

And here is one of Bonnie's donkeys.  She said they (there were 2 more hiding) did not like the heat so they hang out in their Donkey House during the day.

Here is a shot of the beautiful Bee Hives.  Can't wait to paint this !  Bonnie said she does not mess with these hives.  She has enough going on with the farm and making lavender products.  And I bought some really heavenly smelling stuff while there.
Check out their website at www.evergreenlavender.com

Seventeenth in the Pollinator Series "Bird Food"

Hey Friends,  Only on #17 !  Seems to be dragging on huh?  I'm still enjoying this series but it seems I've been on pollinators for so long.   I'm saying it's because there is too much OTHER stuff going on.

You can see a few photos on EBAY of the start on these sunflowers.  Building up a seed head just like the real flower, and the crackling.

Sixteenth in the Pollinator Series "Black Cap"

Hey Friends,  I'm back from Calabash and still trying to catch up.  Had several paintings to pack up and ship from this past week.  Yay!
This sweet little bird is painted on a textured back ground, sort of looks like stucco.
Stuff that I have read says these little chickadee's are one of the easiest to get to eat from your hand.  I still have not tried this, not enough patience yet.  Someday.
This is a beautiful painting and you can bid on it, HERE.

Fourth in Pollinator Series - Bee # 40

Hey Friends,  Bee # 40, boy I've painted a lot of bees.  This one started out with an old clothes pattern that I sewed on.  I just stitched in any direction, doing straight and zig zag stitches.  You can see it a bit better in person, the stitches that is.  It is a nice little size too, 12x6.
It's a wrapped canvas with sides same colors as front.  CLICK HERE for Ebay.

30 Day Challenge "Pollinators"

Hey Friends,  A self imposed challenge !  but wouldn't it be great if every one participated in saving our pollinators?  CLICK HERE to see the painting closer in ebay.
And look below...

I copied this from the latest issue of "Birds and Blooms".  You can see their name and issue at the very bottom.  I don't want to get in trouble for using their image by not giving credit.
Look at # 16
It says Pollinator week is June 16-23.  And visit pollinator.org
Well, when I first read this I was half asleep.  The next day I started preparing for this challenge.  My sleepy memory thought the article said all month.  So now I'm ready to rip for about a month.  I "plan" on posting a pollinator every day on this blog and ebay.
I will be out of town June 8th thru 16th with my plein-aire buddies.  I don't know yet if I'll be able to post anything then.
Thank you for stopping long enough to read and visit. Please check back.
