HOME BUILDER FALL SHOW AT SALEM CIVIC CENTER

Hey Friends,  I'm just a tad late, and that's OK.  Better to be busy !
This photo above is the artists getting started with set up.

Here is my display, all ready for the big rush.  That never came.
Last year was my year for sales.  The folks in this area made it very obvious they do not care for abstraction or expressionism.

Quite a few sales were made, mostly traditional landscapes.

This is Julie, a lady that went to Glenvar High School with me.
She had some sales too.

And here is one of the stars of the whole show!  She was a sweet gal,  I hope a very loving kind family took her home.

All in All I will continue to do this show, because the staff has made it so very easy to get in and get out.  All you have to do is bring your work and the price is so reasonable.
I painted several small pieces while there.

More news later.

HOME BUILDERS SHOW AT SALEM CIVIC CENTER AND HGTV

Hey Friends,  Time for the HOME BUILDERS SHOW at the Salem Civic Center.  Sat. & Sun, the 24 and 25th.
Last year it poured rain, in buckets!  So you will have decent weather this year.  Now come all the way to the back of the CC and you will find an art show.
All local artists.  Great Christmas gifts and anniversary gifts too.

This painting 18x24 will be in the show along with other colorful creations.

And this is a snapshot of some of the art work to be used by Potentially Chic for an episode being made by HGTV of local farm houses.  PC will be involved with the decorating and use of DLP's art work.

Come to the Civic center so we can chat.!

SHORT AND SWEET

Hey Friends,  A couple shots from the art festival held this past Saturday at EC Glass HiSchool.
This is my display up there.  Lots of kind comments and some OOOH's and AAAHHH's.
Sold several pieces of small things and a bunch of cards.

The crowd seemed to be a lot thinner than the past festivals.  This fella here in the top hat was an unusual fella passing thru and carefully judging the works.  I liked his hat and flip flips.

Are outdoor art festivals becoming another art venue that will bite the dust soon (like galleries)??
If you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Time Again for the Lynchburg Art Festival

Hey Friends,  This is a new piece from me.  A view of Smith Mtn. Lake with a big sky!  I have painted several similar in that they are pretty minimal.

I have been trying out abstracts too.  They have been fairly minimal too.  They are more fun than I thought they would be.  And thanks to Judy, there is a place than I can actually operate to put my paintings on their wall.!  I love how they show up.

These will be at the Lynchburg Art Festival held on the grounds of EC Glass High School this Sat. Sept. 17th from 10 'til 4 pm.
The link will give you more info if needed.

New Work for the Lynchburg Art Fest at EC Glass Sept.17

Hey Friends,  I've been experimenting and playing with a new direction in my work.    Look at the land in this piece.  I wish I had thought to take process photos.
I guess I'll have to put a barricade on my studio door that won't let me in until I promise to take process shots.
Whatever works right?

CLICK HERE for more info about the Lynchburg show.

See you there.....
