Blue Bird for the 30 in 30

Hey Friends,  A fat little bluebird seen at my sisters last summer.  He appears to be really stuffed or full of gas ?   Beautiful none the less.   I have not seen one at my feeders yet, but I'm very impatient.  I've read it can take years to finally have one visit your yard.

I'm posting this in my DPW shop and on Leslie Saeta's 30 day challenge.

Cardinal for 30 in 30

Hey Friends,  A week later I continue with my feathers series !  AND this mini painting looks garish on my monitor !!  Maybe I'll have a chance to photo-shop it later tonight.
Internet service with Comcast still sucks big time so I'll be lucky if this post goes out.  Then I want to put bird in my DPW store and the 30 in 30 challenge.

The weather is supposed to get rough again tonight and the next few days.  We might even get some snow/ice on Friday, which will create a problem for the Double Line Painters collage workshop on Saturday morning !!  We may have to reschedule,  really hoping not.

30 in 30 Challenge

Hey Friends,  A short post to show the latest hummer for the 30 in 30 challenge.   I KNOW I've not been posting every day but I'll just have to take a beating.   My daughter is very sick still and it's taking a toll.

I see better days ahead.

Hummer No.2 30 in 30

Hey Friends,  A little jewel painted several months ago when it was still warm and green outside.   I surely miss summer, spring, and fall.  In that order, too.

This jewel is painted with acrylics with lots of water, kind of like watercolor, on Masa Rice Paper that is wet and crumpled and stained then left to dry before painting on.   Gives a batiky, textured look to the base.

I used this process for years several years ago.  Don't know why I stopped.

This painting is for the 30 in 30 challenge hosted by Leslie Saeta.   I know I'm supposed to paint a new one today for this challenge but trying to care for my daughter will get in the way at times.  I think that's OK.

It's also listed on my DPW site.  Just click that badge in the right sidebar.

30 in 30 Woody #6

Hey Friends,  Don't know what kind of Woodpecker this is but He's Woody #6.  I'll look for his official name later I must get ready for my "Real Job" and I've got to post here before posting on Leslie's 30 Day Challenge.
I'm pretty pretty sure I've messed up somewhere, somehow in posting here, Leslie's and DPW.  Can't put my finger on it ('cuz I can't sit here long enough) but they are not synchronized/lined up.

On another note we the DLP (Double Line Painters) will be meeting this Thursday at Smith Mtn.Lake at Midges Lake house to play and make sure of the details for the up coming mixed media collage workshop.
Workshop will be at 2nd Helpings on Sat. Jan. 26th  from 10am til 12:30.  You local friends please come and have fun with us.  Sign up now at 2ndHelpings on Williamson Rd.

Now I'm off to attempt connecting with the other sites.

30 in 30 Woody #5

Hey Friends,  Woody #5 fresh off the easel.   BTW the woodpecker series is almost over for now.  I've got to stick with my list or I'll get lost in what to paint next.
The danged little feathered beauties don't like the suet I made.  I wonder if I got too carried away with the peanut butter.  I've always been like that - if a little is good then a LOT would be better.

30 in 30 Day 4

Hey Friends,  Woody #4 added to DPW store.  And a picture I took right before Christmas of one of our beautiful woodpeckers at one of the suet feeders.  I haven't been home hardly any for the past week so I've missed seeing these beauties.  And esp. the giant fella.

Tonight I made a batch of suet for the first time ever.  So we will see tomorrow if they appreciate my efforts.

30 in 30 Challenge

Hey Friends,  Another little woodpecker added to my DPW store.  This guy is a good bit smaller than the other woodpeckers.   He is Woody #3.

And I decided to participate in Leslie Saeta's challenge.  It's called 30 in 30.  Supposed to paint 30 paintings in 30 days.  I missed the first 2 days 'cuz I'm slow and I've been very busy with my daughter.

Hopefully things can settle down now.   I've got about 15 4x4" canvas panels to work on after the 2x4's are used.  And plenty of 6x6 for back ups.

I put Leslie's blog over there on my side bar if you want to check it out.

Wish me luck !  Lots of Luck !!

2013

Hey Friends,  Yes it's true - 2013 is here.  An entire year has passed .  I don't remember any profound accomplishments.   Mostly I remember sleepless nights.

I'm hoping your new year will be bright and happy.   I want to thank you for visiting my blog and buying my art work.   Hope to paint more this year than last.   I will spend the next few days at Gallery 108.  I'll be helping move everything out and patch walls, etc.

All the Best to you.
