NEW PAINTINGS TO GO TO WVTF IN ROANOKE

Hey Friends, I thought I should show you some of my new work that is going up at WVTF Radio Station next week.  I should have about 15 pieces to be in the exhibit with Bonnie Mason.

I so much enjoyed working on this one!  My favorite colors are in it, aqua, pale green, pinks!!
Title is DREAMS OF OUR FUTURE.  It is 24" square and 2 inches deep.

Would look lovely in any home.  It's nice to have a vision of the future.

Thank you for stopping by.

SUNDAY AT THE SOUTH PEAK PAINT OUT

Hey Friends, this will be a photo post...not much verbiage today.  Only to say what a difference one night can make.  Rain & more rain yesterday.  Wake-up and it's sunny and beautiful (just a bit windy)

Linda and myself had a grand time.  I didn't even mind the wind the first couple hours.

Lots of favorite artists there and among them, Mz.Suz and Charles above.  Then I forgot to get everyone's photo.  Will try harder next year.

Go ahead and pencil it in for 2017.  We will be back.
Thank you Bonnie Hooper and Staff.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Hey Friends,  Thought perhaps you would enjoy a post about a few of the steps of painting this abstract.  This is ABSTRACT, not an abstracted landscape, which is more of what I want to do.
Above I'm using one of the cheap chip brushes to put the red on the canvas.

Here I'm dipping a piece of Tupperware in paint colors and stamping on the red.

A smaller sized cup for a variety of circle sizes.

Here I'm finished with the circles.  Used iridescent blues, greens, pinks and white.

I put these black and white circles I cut from paper, in a pattern, I thought pleasing.  Then I asked a friend, that likes abstracts, what she thought.
She gave it a thumbs up and said the same thing I was thinking.  That the black & white made it look more complete.
This piece would command attention and be a conversation starter.  Don't be afraid of Red.  It would look great with a lot more than you think.

Come to the Lynchburg Art Festival at EC Glass High School on September 17th and see what I've been working on.  I hope to post more works in Progress before then.
