LEXINGTON,VA. ART ON THE GREEN

Hey Friends,  Time to get that little row boat out and do some fishing, right?  Or maybe just a tan.
But first head over to the Art Show in Lexington, Va. this Sat. April 29th, 2017.

The Rockbridge Arts Guild is sponsoring this one day show and this is the first time I've been there.
Hope you will stop and sign up for a free painting.  You do not have to be present to win, I will mail it to you.

This new piece of art, above, will be there.  It is 10x10x2".  Varnished and ready to go home with you.

ART ON THE GREEN in LEXINGTON, VA.

Hey Friends,  Just a couple days to go ...... then I will see you at the Rockbridge Arts Guild show in Lexington, Va. this Sat. 29th of April.
I guess it's pretty obvious I don't do very many street festivals anymore ('cuz that's all I've posted about this week).  I'm having a knee replaced next week so maybe I will be agile once again.   Maybe enough to participate in more shows again.

This piece above is another favorite theme of mine, BONFIRES.  And decided the title is "Marshmallow Moon".   I have painted 3-4 others that sold, and hoping to get a few more finished for this show and to take to the Little Gallery at Smith Mountain Lake.

Please stop and say HI and sign up for email posts.  You will be entered for a drawing for a FREE painting.

POND IN PEARISBURG

Hey Friends,  I remembered again to take progress shots, this is just a couple of them.
I have a photo of the wonderful pond in Pearisburg, Va. on my Chrome Book.

A closer look at the water lilies.  They were not in bloom at the time I took the photo.

That is a bridge way in the distance.

The Koi are another figment of my imagination but they fulfilled their purpose.

There were lots of reflections and sky patterns in the water.

Here is the final piece at 24" x 18".  The colors are very true.
This is available in my website, www.suefurrow.com .

I love process shots on other people's blogs and hope you enjoy them too.

Please feel free to comment.

NEW WORK DELIVERED TO THE LITTLE GALLERY AT SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE

Hey Friends,  I made the long trip to Smith Mtn. Lake this morning.  I took new paintings to the Little Gallery, in the photo above.

I have made big attempts to give my work some interesting titles this year.  Instead of the generic terms Lake#1 or Lake #2 etc.  This is titled "I Wish You Knew".
And these titles mean something to me, not sure anyone else will appreciate this creativity.

This one is titled "Chasin Tomorrow".

This is "Sweet Nosiness".  I just loved these cows!  They just looked so sweet and timid and like they really wanted to come closer.  When I spotted them on Hardy Rd. heading home, they were all laying down in the background in the sun.  When I came to the gate, they all got up and started towards me.  But this is as far as they would go.  There was a dark male to the right, all by himself and looking at me very sternly.  I think he told them to stop there.

This is title "Tis Good to Wander" derived from that old saying "Not all who wander are lost".
Taken from a combo of several photos.

Hope you get to go to the Lake and enjoy some summer time fun and get a cone at the Ice Cream Shoppe after you leave the Little Gallery.

And don't forget the LAVENDER FESTIVAL at Evergreen Lavender Farm in Appomattox tomorrow. Sat. the 18th.  It's worth the drive.
CLICK HERE to read the article in their local paper, the News & Advance.

See you at the festival and hopefully at the lake.
