COLORFUL ORIGINAL STILL LIFE PAINTING AND BISON IN THEM THAR HILLS

Hey Friends,  I just added this pretty to my ETSY Store-Click there.
It was painted with oils and cold wax so it has a different feel and a softer look.  'Tis fun to paint that way.

Thursday, three of us with the DLP went over Catawba Mountain to an area called Paint Bank.  I love to go there.  The grounds around the Paint Bank Store and restaurant are beautiful.  Simple but you can see a painting every where you turn.  There is a lovely creek and the old Tingler Mill and there is a fish pond feeding into the mill wheel.

And if you drive a couple miles past the store you will run into the buffalo herds.  Much bigger than the last time I saw them.  They always appear to be very cautious or anxious around humans.  Not like the buffalo in commercials with the big long sticky tongues trying to get a French Fry!
So now I have some new fodder for paintings and I need to get busy.
Hope your week is wonderful.  And if you know of a colorful gang of maples please let me know.

ORIGINAL PAINTING SNOW BISON IN PAINT BANK

Hey Friends,  painted this one a month or so ago.  Love to paint bison.
These were on a farm in Paint Bank Virginia.  A farm in Erie, Pa. has bison also, and I've taken photos up there too.

Would love to see them in the National Parks out west.  Really I'm just glad the Pilgrims didn't eradicate all of them.

This is available in my ETSY shop - HERE.

Please stop in again soon.

Long Time Getting to Here

Hey Friends,  The nasty flu bugs are out already here in Blue Ridge Area of Virginia.  I've had one bout, my grand babes have had crazy temperatures and strip throat.  So watch OUT.
I felt so much better yesterday I drove out to Paint Bank, Va. near West Va. on Rt. 311.

This is peak foliage color time for them and it was beautiful.  My dinky little point & shoot doesn't do justice for the colors.  The 2 photos above are the bison on Rt.600.  Been wanting to photograph them for years.

This is the view from Potts Mountain close to the "Homeplace" restaurant.  As John Denver said "It sets my senses reeling".  You feel so close to heaven when out there.
You know some paintings are on the way !!  Yay !!
