TIME FLIES - ORIGINAL SMALL ABSTRACT PAINTING

Hey Friends,  Always working!  Look out OBX, I'll be there soon.

This is titled "TIME FLIES".   My sister and I were talking about how old our babes are now and WE DO NOT feel old enough to have kids their age!  We all do that, don't we?
Even talking about it shows our age, right?

This is on my website HERE.  And you can see it better!

DANCING IN THE DARK - ORIGINAL PAINTING

Hey Friends,  Inspiration comes from songs for me.  I enjoy music when I'm working.  This is from a Bruce Springsten song, I'm sure you have heard.  Beaux Jacque inspires a ton also.  I love Adelle but I usually cry and can't see what I'm doing so I don't listen to her very often.

This is a 12x12 piece and listed on my website HERE

This will probably be with other works at a show called ART BLAST,  to be held at Towers Mall, the upper level, here in Roanoke, Va.  All the way in the back where Rams Head used to be.  The famous STUDIO SCHOOL has moved into that space and they are sponsoring this event.
Hoping you can stop by and say hello and support some local creatives.

CONTORTED - ORIGINAL ABSTRACT STILL LIFE

The vase in this painting is an acrylic pour I did back in the summer.  These pours are fun to do even if they are totally on their own.  I could not find a single way to control them and if your table is not perfectly level, it will run everywhere.

I made several of these skins with the intention of doing vases and flowers from them.
A great little time killer to do with your GranBabes.
This is available on my website HERE

MINT JULEPS - ORIGINAL ART FOR THE WALL

Hey Friends,  I know you already know, but I thought I would remind that you can usually turn abstract work in any direction, to suit your space.

And the title makes you think of the Kentucky Derby, right?  I love the drink, Mint Julep.  I used to have a patch of mint growing just for that reason.
Since my move I have not thought of starting another patch of mint.

Don't you think the WEE ones would enjoy looking at Mint Juleps?  When the wee one got too big for the baby room, you could move the art into any room, don't cha think?

I love slang.
This is available on my website HERE!

PLANKTON - ORIGINAL ABSTRACT ART

Hey Friends, Why did I call this one "PLANKTON"??  Probably because of the TV show "Sponge Bob".  My granBabe loves that crazy cartoon  and I was working on this while he watched SB.  I don't even know what plankton looks like really.  Of course I vaguely remember seeing them in hi-school.

This would be cute in a boys room, don't ya think?
You can buy it right from my website HERE!

Thanks for stopping by.

DANDELIONS IN THE BACKYARD-ORIGINAL ABSTRACT ART

Hey Friends,Dandelions are the curse of many male homeowners/groundskeepers.  They can't come to terms with the fact that they can't defeat the beauties.  I had a good chuckle when my GranBabe was wacking all the dandelion blooms off the plants in their front yard.  He was proud that he had killed all the plants his Dad hated!

This is available on my website FASO

Thanks for stopping by.

CROSAMIA - AN ORIGINAL ABSTRACT PAINTING

Hey Friends,  I have really enjoyed creating these abstracts.  They express all my joy and hopes.  Putting paint down and scratching designs as I go, with anything, is very rewarding.

We have had a patch of crosamia growing on the driveway in the tiny little spring at the bottom of our hill for a long time.
This piece really captures the colors.  Look again on my website HERE.

HISSY FIT - ORIGINAL ABSTRACTED ARTWORK

Hey Friends, Is there anything you mistakenly do over and over again?  I drive myself nuts with the CAPS button on this computer.

Something kept suggesting "Cats" as I painted this piece.  So I did not want to name it after the play,  Hissy Fit seemed to fit.
Cats are always having hissy fits aren't they?
Check it out on my website HERE!

LOOKING FOR FAIRIES - AN ORIGINAL ABSTRACT ARTWORK

Hey Friends,  Running behind a bit today.  And have not been in my studio either.
Some days get away from ya, but had a good time with my GranBabes.

When I was little, I was always looking for ways to escape the house and all the nonsense inside.  I was often out in the forest looking for fairies.  And I have no idea why but I always pictured them to be a beautiful shade of blue, like the cobalt in this painting.  Of course their skin and limbs were translucent and shone from within.  Sadly, I never found a single one.
Do I still believe?  That's a good question.  Do You?  LOOK HERE.

RIVERSIDE NURSERY HAS THE BLOOMS YOU WANT

Hey Friends,  Yesterday was a fun day for me at Riverside Nursery painting the koi pond.

The pond reflected the inside of the green house, of course, so that was not very pretty.  And I had a bit of a stroke trying to imagine the reflections if it were outside.
Can't say it was the most imaginative but I like it anyway.

Thank you Bruce for letting us set up inside your lovely house of blooms.
I bought some of the gorgeous yellow pansies for my sister's front porch.  I have never seen such giant pansy blooms.  You know you need some!

DWELL IN A NEW PLACE II 30 DAY CHALLENGE NO. 26

Hey Friends,  This is DWELL II.  They would look good hung together so I guess I'll call them a dyptch.  Soon, maybe later today, I want to show you some of my process photos.  That will either be fun or a total mess.  Stay tuned.

Hanging by your bed? Looks rather springy to me, that wasn't my intention but I like it.  Do You?
Day 26 of the 30 day Challenge.  Feb only has 28 days.  Wonder if we will cut it on the 28th or keep going?  Leslie may have told us and I missed it.
