A VERY SHORT VIDEO OF THE BEGINNING

Hi My Friend, I have played just a couple times with a video and I'm trying to do better.
Gonna try more today.
If you have any pointers, suggestions please let me know.

Just so ya know, I was holding phone in one hand and knife in the other.  A tripod would be better.  Does anyone have anything to say about the GO PRO?

NEW ORIGINAL ABSTRACTED ART UNDERWAY

Hey my Friends,  FINALLY, I am taking time to paint.  I have started several new originals.  This piece on paper is a paint-over or a Do-Over.  I put Utrect gesso (the best kind) over an older piece that I finished up a month ago.....I did not like it once I saw it again.  So it can be a good thing to postpone showing something to the world.  It will happen again, I'm sure.  No Biggie.

I started 2 more with Prussian Blue, that's my color for Jan.  Can you see the little thumbnails up top?
It has been less stressful doing these mini-thumbnails first.  I get these from looking at older/other paintings and just putting down the dark areas.  You can do that with anything.  Magazines always have photos, so try that.

I have been taking/working hard with on line business classes. So that's why I haven't been posting or painting as much.
I may never finish this class but I will not give up my painting.

Hope your winter has been tolerable so far.  It is snowing again here in SW Va.  And my lusting for a warmer clime will never go away.

MINT JULEPS - ORIGINAL ART FOR THE WALL

Hey Friends,  I know you already know, but I thought I would remind that you can usually turn abstract work in any direction, to suit your space.

And the title makes you think of the Kentucky Derby, right?  I love the drink, Mint Julep.  I used to have a patch of mint growing just for that reason.
Since my move I have not thought of starting another patch of mint.

Don't you think the WEE ones would enjoy looking at Mint Juleps?  When the wee one got too big for the baby room, you could move the art into any room, don't cha think?

I love slang.
This is available on my website HERE!

MINT WAFERS - ORIGINAL ABSTRACT PAINTING

Hey Friends, I love greens, all the different hues and values, maybe I have a tendency to overdo but who can blame me?  You can buy bags of mints that look like mini wafers and some have those tiny white beads on them.

Don't you love the magenta pink with the greens?
This is listed for sale on my website HERE.

CROSAMIA - AN ORIGINAL ABSTRACT PAINTING

Hey Friends,  I have really enjoyed creating these abstracts.  They express all my joy and hopes.  Putting paint down and scratching designs as I go, with anything, is very rewarding.

We have had a patch of crosamia growing on the driveway in the tiny little spring at the bottom of our hill for a long time.
This piece really captures the colors.  Look again on my website HERE.

HISSY FIT - ORIGINAL ABSTRACTED ARTWORK

Hey Friends, Is there anything you mistakenly do over and over again?  I drive myself nuts with the CAPS button on this computer.

Something kept suggesting "Cats" as I painted this piece.  So I did not want to name it after the play,  Hissy Fit seemed to fit.
Cats are always having hissy fits aren't they?
Check it out on my website HERE!

LOOKING FOR FAIRIES - AN ORIGINAL ABSTRACT ARTWORK

Hey Friends,  Running behind a bit today.  And have not been in my studio either.
Some days get away from ya, but had a good time with my GranBabes.

When I was little, I was always looking for ways to escape the house and all the nonsense inside.  I was often out in the forest looking for fairies.  And I have no idea why but I always pictured them to be a beautiful shade of blue, like the cobalt in this painting.  Of course their skin and limbs were translucent and shone from within.  Sadly, I never found a single one.
Do I still believe?  That's a good question.  Do You?  LOOK HERE.

CORN FLOWERS

Hey Friends,  If you didn't know, cornflowers are the same as bachelor buttons.  I can only assume it depends on where you live as what you call them.
Kinda like toe-ma-toe  and toe MA toe.

But I do love that blue! And I love this painting.  If you do also, please tell me.

It is available for purchase on my website HERE.

NEXT UP IN THE GARDEN SERIES - MEE MEE'S GARDEN

Hey Friends,  The people closest to me know how much I love Mee Mee, so I could not leave her out, even if she is a dog.  I sincerely believe we can love a pup as much as some humans.  We know the pups can be much more loving than some humans.

So I tested Mee Mee and had her pick out some of her most favorites colors. I was surprised that she like purple so much.  I may have unconsciously influenced her by my attitude towards purple.
No matter, her garden painting turned out to be a fav of mine.

You can see it and purchase it on my website HERE.

JESSI'S GARDEN

Hey Friends,  Jessi's Garden does not exist (yet) I had to make her's up.  But I bet if she did plant a pot she would have some crimson blooms in there.

This would be pretty in your home.  In a frame of white or gray to match your couch!
This is listed on my website for Sale HERE

NIC'S GARDEN IN THE BLOOM SERIES

Hey Friends,  Nicolus is next.  He likes the yellow blooms.  Marigold, Sunflowers, Melanpodia!
This is 12"sq. also and available for purchase on my website HERE!

Don't you think Babies & Toddlers would enjoy looking at a colorful abstract?
It would mean about the same to them as a picture of ducks or animals.  The colors are what draw their attention.  It would look fab in a frame the same color as the bed.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO MY FRIENDS

Hey Friends,  We had a good time yesterday at the 2nd Helpings Reception.  I painted while people looked at the work and had refreshments.  A pleasant way to spend the time.

Becky Layman and her pretty little girl came by.  It was good to see Becky and meet her daughter.

Hope all have a great Sunday's Mother Day.  Kiss all your loved ones.

GOING THE DISTANCE - #30 DAY CHALLENGE - DAY 15

Hey My Friends,  I must of been a bit weary or a bit inspired when I thought of this title.

Goes really well in this kitchen, don't ya think??  Make sure your painting has a couple good coats of varnish before hanging in a kitchen or bathroom.
This painting is available HERE on my website and you can see it HERE on Leslie's challenge blog.

CHANNELING PABLO - 30 in 30 CHALLENGE

Hey Friends,  A slight departure from my usual.  Gotta little bit of Picasso going on here.
I thought the bolder heavier shapes looked a bit like Pablo.

I'm going to show you some process shots on another post soon.

This is available for your home HERE and is also shown on the 30 Day Blog HERE.

"WHERE IS HE FROM" - Day 12 in 30 Day Challenge

Hey Friends,  I think this looks masculine, Do you?  I still think women could like it but I can see it in a man's office.  Maybe for the search engines, I should describe this a little bit.
I can not remember for sure but I think the majority of the dark areas have MARS VIOLET by Golden and probably a bit of ultramarine blue by NOVA.  Then using squirt bottles (like you put ketchup or mustard in) I squiggled the turquoise and then white and some red and a tad of yellow.

This can be found on my website HERE and it will be posted on Leslie's blog HERE.
